Nearly 2,000 survey responses

Nearly 2,000 survey responses. More than 90 written submissions. More than 420 people at forums in Brisbane, Roma, Emerald, Cairns, Mackay, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, Townsville and Toowoomba. That's the engagement footprint behind Queensland Spirit: The Road to 2032, released this week. Clubs and volunteers turned up in rooms a long way from the capital, and you can see their fingerprints across the priorities: grassroots facilities, club grants, sports vouchers and stronger talent pathways. Now comes the harder part. I've spent seven years around Gold Coast club soccer, so I know what those 500,000 volunteers look like up close: canteen rosters, chasing sponsorships, wrangling coaches, teams (and parents), committees that never have enough hands. Queensland has 8,500 sporting clubs and organisations, and this strategy has just set their expectations. Closing the loop matters as much as opening it: showing contributors where their input landed and reporting back as programs roll out across six years of delivery. Consultation earns a strategy its legitimacy. What earns lasting trust is what participants hear back once delivery starts. #Queensland #Brisbane2032 #CommunityEngagement #StakeholderEngagement #Sport
